Director Biography :
Ariadna Sánchez is a documentary film director, filmmaker and fiction screenwriter. She studied media and filming in Barcelona and Hamburg and specialized in fictional narratives with a Master's degree in film scriptwriting.
Her work stands out for social and cultural topics such as Provençals (2020), a documentary about the urban change in her native neighborhood, and short film scripts such as La poesía de la guerra (2021), a story about the last day of the civil war in Spain, and feature films such as En nombre de la libertad (2021), a project about the ideological difficulties that Spanish society was going through during the transition in 1979.
In 2021, Ariadna began a whole process of documenting women in different styles of contact sports, with the aim of making visible the reality of many people and her own. In this way, she fuses her two great passions: cinema and martial arts, as she herself has been involved in the world of karate since she was six years old.
